The Birthing of The Vision

Life prepared me for this vision so to speak. My mother passed when I was 2 years old. This allowed me to experience life with my grandmother since that time in rural Honde Valley, Zimbabwe. We had lots of land and very little food, no proper housing, no bathrooms, no clean drinking water. At the age of five due to malnutrition, I had kwashiorkor (many of you may have seen the kids on TV with bulging stomachs and looking sickly). I was not able to walk, relieve myself or take a shower by myself, I can clearly remember at the age of 6 thinking to myself that 'I am not going to make out of this situation.' Just before turning 7, I was taken to the city to live with some relatives. I know it was by God’s grace that healing manifested. High school was another life transforming experience, I was in boarding school and during school breaks I would be in Christian Camps with an Organization called Scripture Union. That’s where my salvation journey started. Going to these camps was not necessarily by choice, but because sometimes I didn’t know where I would spend my school breaks/Holidays. These camps helped me develop my gift and love for music/worship. My recent visit to Honde Valley, Zimbabwe, after over 30 years, I can testify nothing much has changed. I felt something saying you made it out to be “The Change In This Community”, just like Moses was raised in Egypt he left and later came back to help his people out of bondage. We didn’t have to be poor without food, no clean water, good accommodation, and no proper bathrooms while we possessed the most important asset (land). My desire is to transform rural communities by delivering quality life to all locals in the areas of Housing, Agriculture and Education.

With the help of the local leaders (WAMI) helps to improve the quality of life for the communities beginning with Agricultural Programs utilizing the land already owned by the locals, develop the gifts and talents within the Youth of each community.

Our First Mission

We are currently in the middle of constructing a Missions House where our missionaries, volunteers, or visitors from overseas will stay as they visit the local people, minister to them, see some of our projects and above all experience the typical African rural life. We are proud to say this project has offered quite a few people some income in the area. Their stories are what has kept me going. When I hear stories of people being able to pay school fees or buy school uniforms for their children with the little we pay them for helping us make this dream to true, I am inspired. We are almost completing the Missions House which accommodates up to 10 Guests at a time.

1. The House has the roof already installed.
2. Bathrooms, including showers, tubs, and septic tank installed.
3. Electricity is currently being installed; the source is about 1.5km away from the House all the required materials are on site.

Here is what is required to complete this Project:

4. Plastering the inside walls
5. Putting Up the ceiling
6. Floor Tiles
7. Kitchen and Bedrooms fittings
8. Furnishing the whole house. After this our first group of visitors will be ready to travel.
9. We will need a 2 roomed cottage for the caretaker.
10. Due to loadshedding solar will be ideal.
11. Water harvesting system and purification is already on site still to be installed
12. Landscaping - our Missions House is on a mountain slop with beautiful views.

FUTURE PLANS

Building THATCHED mud houses/rooms around the Missions House, these will be built the same way the locals build their homes using the same materials they use.
Our 22 hectares will be used for Research and development, and as a training center for the locals who wish to learn more on how to maximize their land usage as they improve their quality of life. Camps and training seminars will be available for anyone who may to learn more. Typical training to be provided will be in water harvesting, constructing biogas septic’s (for off grid energy source), how to start fish farming, goat farming, piggery and how to start and for care an Orchard. Honde Valley is known for having the best rain patterns and soils that allows any fruit/crop to grow.
